Abstract:

Among the three well-known seismic belts of the world, ESCAP is the most hazardous region which includes Iran. Besides earthquakes, natural disasters such as floods, droughts, and landslides take the lives of thousands annually in the region and displace hundreds of thousand people. In Iran, only in the last two decades two major earthquakes have occurred with hundreds of thousand casualties. Before final stages of reconstruction operations in Manjil and Roudbar quake-ridden areas, another earthquake occurred in Bam district which entirely devastated Bam city and left enormous human and financial damages in more than 20 villages. The research project "Crisis management and socioeconomic CONSEQUENCES of Bam earthquake for rural disaster areas" included a study of DEMOGRAPHIC CONSEQUENCES with sample size of 300 rural households. An analysis of macro and micro data showed a significant difference in fertility, migration, mortality, employment, forms of marriage, and income levels. Comparative analyses illustrated a positive natural and absolute growth of population, increased migrations, incremental trend of fertility, changes in sex ratios, exogamous marriages, heterogamy, and differences in economic, subsistence, and income-generating activity indices, in comparison to the pre-disaster period. A dynamic comparison between DEMOGRAPHIC processes and previous long-term trends shows a biased order.

Abstract:

Many studies have already been conducted to understand the various dimensions of the burnout. The purpose of the present research is to investigate the moderating effect of DEMOGRAPHIC variables on the relationship between job burnout and its CONSEQUENCES among the staff of an Iranian public sector company. In this research, job burnout is considered as independent variable; organizational commitment, intention to leave and the employees‟ job satisfaction are dependent variables; and the age, gender, marital status and educational level are moderating variables. The results of this study show that firstly, the job burnout of employees in organizations leads to the decrease of organizational commitment and job satisfaction, and the increase of intention to leave; secondly, the DEMOGRAPHIC variables in this research don't affect on the relationship of job burnout with its CONSEQUENCES.

Abstract:

The present research studied the (causal, contextual, and intervening) conditions, strategies, and CONSEQUENCES of violence in the lives of child wives in Chabahar city, conducted with a qualitative methodology based on grounded theory. For this purpose, in-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted with 28 child-married girls in Chabahar city who were selected through theoretical sampling and snowball method. The analysis of the data in the framework of the three-level open, axial and selective coding system showed that gendered inequality and discrimination, women's inferiority, men's value, the culture of silence and the culture of violence play a role in the experience of child-wives in terms of violence (causal conditions), which leads to a type of increased, double violence for them (core category); violence that operates within the framework of the family institution, the main mechanism of which are previous traditions and rules, and the perpetrators of which are men and women who were themselves the victims of the same traditions and rules that they have, now, internalized and used again against their daughters. This increased violence happens in a context where patriarchy is widespread (contextual conditions) and due to the generalized self-deprecation among child wives (intervening conditions), they may attempt to escape, get separated, threaten, and commit suicide (strategies), and these actions have CONSEQUENCES such as symbolic, physical, and sexual violence and even social isolation (CONSEQUENCES).

Abstract:

Given the importance of selecting the right people for teleworking, this study aimed to investigate the role of introversion in psychological CONSEQUENCES according to DEMOGRAPHIC variables in teleworking during the corona period. The research method was correlational and the research sample was selected from 197 telework employees of a company by convenience sampling. Then they responded to research tools including the Beck Depression Inventory, Cognitive Failure Questionnaire (CFQ), Metacognition Questionnaire, Loneliness Scale, and Fear of evaluation Questionnaire. Correlation and regression analyzes were used to analyze the data. The results showed that DEMOGRAPHIC variables of age, life situation and recent unemployment predict psychological CONSEQUENCES. After including introversion in the model, living with others (as opposed to living alone) was associated with more severe loneliness, cognitive failures, and fear of evaluation as a result of changes in the conditions by the Coronavirus. The coefficient 􀈕 is negative about loneliness. That means in this situation the introvert shows a greater tendency to be with others to reduce loneliness. This finding contradicts the background. Organizations are advised to pay attention to their personality when choosing employees to work remotely to reduce negative psychological CONSEQUENCES.

Abstract:

Background: Assisted reproductive techniques have increased the chances of pregnancy for couples looking for a way to treat their infertility. To increase the effectiveness of these methods, studies are needed to identify the determinants of a successful pregnancy with these techniques. Methods: The present study is a cross-sectional retrospective study that was performed on 253 couples who were referred for infertility treatment to the infertility clinic of Shahid Beheshti Hospital in Isfahan from April 2019 to March 2020 to evaluate the results of pregnancy in vitro fertilization. DEMOGRAPHIC, clinical, and laboratory data from patient records were collected and entered into checklists. Results: Out of 253 couples, eighty-five (33. 6%) became pregnant by IVF. The mean age of women with successful pregnancies was 33. 96±, 5. 2 years and in the unsuccessful pregnancies was 35. 84±, 5. 07 years. The results of this study showed that women who had a successful pregnancy after IVF were significantly younger than women who did not have a successful pregnancy (P=0. 006). In the classification of patients into two groups of positive and negative pregnancies, younger age, adequate vitamin D levels, and higher sperm motility were the determinants of pregnancy in the first period of fertilization (Fresh protocol). Also, the existence of a failed history of infertility treatment in couples has been introduced as a negative factor for IVF fertility. 13(15. 9%) abortions occurred and 11(12. 9%) infants who were born with this method needed intensive care. Conclusion: Lower age at the time of fertilization, higher vitamin D levels, and more active sperms were found to have important and prognostic roles in the success of pregnancy by in vitro fertilization technique. The results of the present study showed that, Increased unsuccessful treatment has been associated with the history of failed treatment. Therefore, to respond to the relationship between previous infertility treatments and success in subsequent pregnancies in the IVF process, It is recommended to conduct studies with larger sample size and at a higher time efficiency.

Abstract:

Immigration and the growth of metropolitan areas are always associated with major changes in the areas around them. National Tehran metropolis with its rapid growth in recent decades has caused population increase and physical development of the surrounding towns and villages. The aim of this study is to investigate the factors affecting DEMOGRAPHIC and physical changes in Garachak city as a settlement around Tehran metropolis. The research method is descriptive-analytic and data collection was based on library documents, observation, in-depth interviews and 300 household questionnaires completed randomly. The data were analyzed by using single T- test, multi-variable regression, interpretation of satellite images (in years 1987 and 2011), and Holdern model. The results showed that due to reasons such as locating on Tehran-Varamin road, short distance and the rapid access to metropolis Tehran and its facilities, and also due to the low costs of land and housing in that area, Garachak city has had high population growth so that the city as a complementary area for Tehran has an additional role in residency and settlement. According to Holdern model analysis, approximately %68 of physical growth and nearly %32 of growth in Garachak city is respectively associated with population growth and horizontal-sprawl growth which have caused huge changes in economic, social, and ecological aspects of the city.

Abstract:

Abstract This paper aims to study some of the CONSEQUENCES of divorce for divorced women with an emphasis on socio-DEMOGRAPHIC variables; monthly income, age, education level, and size of the household. Using the survey method, the data were collected in the form of a questionnaire and the form of a targeted and available sample of 440 divorced women in Ahvaz City. According to the findings, among the most important social problems of divorced women can be mentioned the humiliating and oppressive society's view of women, the feeling of being under constant surveillance, and frequent harassment that weakens women's self-confidence. The insufficient income of divorced women to meet the needs of themselves and their children has caused this group of women to face severe economic deprivation. Being affected by children's feelings and emotions as well as feeling depressed in divorced women is one of the most important psychological CONSEQUENCES of divorce. In issues related to health and physiology, the increase in the consumption of sedatives in divorced women has led to changes in their body structure and the deterioration of their health. One of the important findings of this research is the priority of social issues over other issues (economic, psychological, and physiological). Divorced women who have lower income, education, and age, compared to divorced women who have better education and economic status and older age, suffer from more social, economic, psychological, and physiological issues and problems. The results of this article can be effective in many dimensions in understanding and dealing with the issue of divorce and can be a way for policymakers and planners to pay more attention to the issues of divorced women.   Introduction In Iranian-Islamic society, family and husband are considered the safest support for married women. The nature of relations with relatives and cultural and religious customs in Iran is such that it forbids women to live alone and stay away from home. Although divorce in Iran is considered as one of the prohibitions, the attitude towards it has changed and nowadays divorce in Iran, especially in Khuzestan province, is a deeply shocking fact. Divorce, which historically has not been common in the traditional religious province of Khuzestan, is now considered a normal and practical phenomenon. Considering the upward trend of divorce in Khuzestan province and Ahvaz city, divorce has become an important DEMOGRAPHIC-social issue for these regions. The purpose of this article is to answer the following questions: What are the most important CONSEQUENCES of divorce (in order of priority) for divorced women in Ahvaz? Which DEMOGRAPHIC, social, and economic factors are effective in intensifying the CONSEQUENCES (problems) of divorce for divorced women in Ahvaz?   Methods and Data This article is a descriptive-analytical study that uses the survey research method to identify the most important CONSEQUENCES of divorce for divorced women according to some socio-DEMOGRAPHIC variables. The population of the research includes the divorced women of Ahvaz city, and there is no accurate information about the total number of divorced women in Ahvaz city. The sample was selected from divorced women who visited different branches of family courts in Ahvaz for seven months from the beginning of May to the end of November 2022 to follow up on issues related to their dowry and alimony. After participating in the briefing session and with the arrangements made with the head of the family courts of Ahvaz city, the questioners visited the eleven branches of this court and collected the data in the form of a questionnaire on several days and the form of a targeted and accessible sample, from 440 divorced women have collected.   Findings In this article, it was found that social and economic issues and problems caused by divorce for divorced women in Ahvaz city are more than psychological and physiological issues and problems. Among the most important problems and social issues, we can mention the humiliating and cruel society's view of the divorced woman, the feeling of being constantly monitored by others, and being exposed to the harassment of those around her. Many men look at divorced women as fulfilling their sexual needs and as tools for sex. Divorced women in the economic field do not have enough monthly income to meet the essential needs of themselves and their children, which has caused the divorced women of Ahvaz to face economic deprivation, and most of them have an income below the poverty line. The most important issues and psychological CONSEQUENCES that divorced women in Ahvaz faced in the two cases were being influenced by children's feelings and emotions, as well as the feeling of depression in divorced women, which showed themselves relatively more. In the field of issues and problems related to women's health and physiology, the increase in the consumption of tranquilizers among divorced women in Ahvaz City leads to changes in women's physical structure after divorce and the deterioration of their health status. It should be noted that divorced women in Ahvaz City who have lower income, education, and age, compared to divorced women who have better education and economic status and are older, suffer more from the above economic, psychological, and health problems.   Conclusion and Discussion It was mentioned in the previous lines that one of the important findings of this research is the priority of social issues over other issues (economic, psychological, and physiological). Unlike economic, psychological, and physiological issues, the average difference of social issues among categories of educational levels and income levels is not significant in the variance analysis tables. Now, in terms of average, it has the first rank among all issues. This shows that the social aspect of the issue has overshadowed all categories of education and income variables so that no significant difference is observed. Therefore, in the theoretical explanation of the current research problem, Durkheim's theory which deals with the level of the normative structure of society is more suitable than the micro-exchange theories. According to the findings of this article, by holding rehabilitation programs, seminars, and special lectures for divorced women, the crisis caused by divorce can be overcome to some extent. Efforts should be made so that divorce does not prevent women from playing a role in the development process and as a result, marginalize them. Educating parents to minimize the damage of divorce for their children, providing counseling services, raising awareness for family support for divorced women, and modifying society's attitude towards divorced women and children can also be mentioned as suitable solutions to reduce the CONSEQUENCES of divorce. In the economic field, it is recommended that the relevant institutions (such as the welfare department and the relief committee) implement coverage and support plans to reduce poverty and ensure a decent life for divorced women and their children.
